The Rural Alberta Advantage Share Video for “Brother”

The Rural Alberta Advantage — Nils Edenloff, Paul Banwatt and Robin Hatch — are thrilled to announce their new album The Wild, due October 13 via Saddle Creek (with Paper Bag Records releasing the record in Canada, Europe and the UK). To ring in the announcement, the group has shared the stunning hand-painted video for the album’s first single “Brother,” which is available to stream or embed HERE. Album pre-orders (which include Saddle Creek Store Exclusive translucent orange vinyl limited to 250 copies) can be found HERE.

“Some people might hear the song as something bleak or overly dark, but I don’t really see it that way,” says Edenloff about “Brother”. “In my mind, it’s always been more about finding comfort in change, trying to embrace the idea of an unknown outcome and how those can often bring about the most positive result that you never knew was there.”
The band will also hit the road joined by Vancouver’s Yukon Blonde for two months through North America beginning October 20. The U.S. dates include a two night stand in New York City, as well as stops in Washington D.C., Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles, San Francisco and more. The full list of tour dates on sale now can be found below.
In 2006, The Rural Alberta Advantage came together to release their debut self-titled EP. The ensuing years have brought three full-length albums (2008’s Hometowns2011’s Departing and 2014’sMended With Gold), widespread critical praise (SPINRolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR and others), two Juno Award nominations (Best New Group, Video of the Year), a Long List Nomination for the Polaris Music Prize, and a hard-earned reputation as one of the most impressive live bands you’ll ever see.
