Sydney’s Jonathan Boulet’s “Gubba” Album is Out Now

After honing his craft in his hometown of Sydney, with two records on esteemed Australiian label Modular (home to the likes of Tame Impala, Cut Copy, The Presets & many more), Jonathan Boulet decided it was time for a fresh start.  In early 2013, he upped sticks, relocated to Europe, found himself a new band and soon followed the beginnings of Gubba’, marking a new, fresh, gritty punk sound.

Entirely self-produced, this direct & uncompromising record bludgeons like a doom record sped up to garage-punk tempos. For fans of The Melvins, Les Savy Fav, Jesus Lizard and anyone who likes their music riffy, catchy and with a  thick, scummy outer layer. Gubba is fast, heavy & direct. Gubba is not angry, but likes to have fun.

“The racket Boulet coaxes from his instrument is impeccable in tone and thickness, and his self-production shines too.” NME
