San Francisco…The LONE STAR SALOON will host a Beer Bust/Fun Raiser and Art Exhibition on Sunday, August 11, 2019, 4-8pm – benefiting the UCSF ALLIANCE HEALTH PROJECT.

THE PLACE:

The iconic LONE STAR SALOON opened in 1989 as a leather/biker bar. With the emergence of the bear scene it quickly became the first and most famous American Bear Bar. Over the years, the bar’s infamous BEER BUSTS have benefited countless Bay Area LGBT organizations and causes.

THE CAUSE:

THE DIRTY DOZEN will benefit the UCSF Alliance Health Project, the producers of the iconic fundraiser, Art for AIDS. Alliance Health Project (AHP) offers underserved LGBTQ and HIV-affected community members HIV testing, therapy, case management, support groups, substance use treatment, psychiatric services, and PrEP navigation.

The mission of the Alliance Health Project is to improve the health and wellness of the HIV and LGBTQ community in constructing healthy and meaningful lives. Founded in 1984 as AIDS Health Project at the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, the original undertaking was to offer emotional and mental health care and education to gay men and injection drug users. The mission expanded in 2010 to include mental health and substance use services to the LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.

THE ART: The Dirty Dozen opens Monday August 5th and runs through Sunday August 25th and is curated by San Francisco Gallerist, Curator and iPhoneographer, James Bacchi.
