Venice, Italy-based alternative rock band New Candys announce their upcoming LP, Bleeding Magenta, due out in October 2017 via Fuzz Club Records. New Candys formed in 2008 and gained a buzz through playing European festivals, such as The Secret Garden Party and Liverpool Psych Fest 2016. They recently landed a major sync for their song “Aphrodite In Leather” on SHOWTIME‘s hit show “Shameless.” New Candys have shared the stage with rock notables, including The Warlocks, Dead Skeletons, The Vaccines, Slowdive and more.
Today, New Noise Magazine premieres the lead single “Excess” stating, “The song bellows with a gripping bass line, charging the rest of the instrumentals into a sonic daze; full of grandeur and poppy atmosphere.” “Excess” is a goodbye song; it’s about how intense relationships can be and how it’s okay to say goodbye if it’s too much to handle. The video has cinematographic odes to Nicolas Winding Refn and Dario Argento. This is the first offering from the upcoming LP, and gives a good sample of what to expect on the full record. Bleeding Magenta was written with a vinyl release in mind. The band says, “We played with the restricted amount of time allowed by one side at 33 RPM: 24 minutes. This forced us to be focused, to slim down our compositions and give space to the best and essential music only.”
The four piece is made up of Fernando Nuti (vocals, guitar, sitar), Diego Menegaldo (guitar, vocals), Stefano Bidoggia (bass, organ) and Dario Lucchesi (drums, percussion). New Candys
