Mike Enders Debuts Pilot for New Gay Travel Show, Focussing on Alternative Gay Travel: “Big Island, HI”

Welcome to the pilot episode of Mike Enders’ NEW gay travel show! Mike tells us that he feels alive when traveling and visiting new places is what excites him most. We will be visiting some of the worlds most popular travel destinations and digging deep to find off-the-grid/alternative/gay/gay-friendly travel destination. We’ll be dipping our toes into some gay travel hot spots and clubs around the world as well, but well stay rooted on the ‘dirt roads’ when possible. The back alley is where all the fun happens anyhow.

Mike Enders starts off his new gay travel series with a bang, on the Big Island of Hawaii, focussing his trip on the  East-wet side of the Island, Hilo, more specifically Puna. While searching for the soul of the island and to find out what draws people to this area, specifically gay people, Mike visits some of the gay hubs of the island including Eco-Retreat Center Kalani Honua and The Kitty Ranch. Just his luck Mike runs into a Gay Men’s Adventure Group run by No Ka Oi Adventures based out of Maui, HI and explores with them.

In this first pilot episode Mike does what he does best, hops in the tub with local resident Buck at the Kitty Ranch for a casual chat about island living, Pele the fire goddess, living off the grid, the growth of the Kitty Ranch and much more!

All videos were taken by Mike, his handheld camera and a tripod! Imagine the possibilities with a little funding and backing from a tv network (LOGO, BRAVO etc). There are no travel shows like this right now! Hello Accidental Bear network and connections, let’s make this dream a reality. Imagine Africa, Australia, Asia, London, Greece etc! The Big Island of Hawaii: No Ka Oi

If you are looking for a quiet tropical vacation, with little to no distraction, the Big Island, HI should be your next travel destination. If gay a destination and/or gay-friendly travel options are a priority to you, then look into the most overlooked Hawaiian Island, in my opinion, again the Big Island of Hawaii. The Big Island is raw, flowing with lava, covered in exciting water falls, and you could probably say the entire island is off the beaten path. Gay life on the Big Island is not fed to you on a spoon, you have to search it out and be prepared to go on an adventure!

It is the largest and the southeastern-most of the Hawaiian islands, a chain of volcanic islands in the North Pacific Ocean.

It’s easy to feel awed on Hawaii Island. From the molten magma flowing from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea; from the green rainforests of the Hamakua Coast to the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach; Hawaii Island is an unrivaled expression of the power of nature.

Heading off the beaten path of the off the beaten path, Mike meets up with friend and local resident of the Puna district for 20 years, Buck (Just one name, like Cher or Madonna), to hike through a lava field to tour The Kitty Ranch. The Kitty Ranch is off the grid, solar powered, community living and one of the most special places on the planet. Chickens run rampant, which provide the daily source of protein, and labor for some living on property.
