Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper Get Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame

It came as no surprise that when it came time to give Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, their stars would be located in front of the Pantages Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.

That’s where Kinky Boots, the Broadway musical that won both stars Tony Awards, opens this week.

‘What a day!!!’ Fierstein tweeted after the ceremony.

On Instagram Lauper wrote: ‘What an honor!’

The openly gay Fierstein wrote the book for Kinky Boots and Lauper, a staunch LGBTI ally and activist, wrote the score.

The show earned 13 Tony nominations and had six wins including Best Musical and Best Score.

Their stars were the 2,577th and 2,578th stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
