Gothic bluegrass band, The Wanting, releases their second video from their album “Dark Road”. The short film was shot in the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans, now famous as the location for Solange’s wedding photographs.
The video for “Autumn’s Daughter” loosely follows the songs lyrical exploration of ritual and spell in modern life. Front man Chris Jacob said, “We had a matter or hours to shoot the video, because we were playing a show in the space later that evening…so it was a focused and intentional collaboration with the filmmaker”.
While Dark Road is their debut release, The Wanting have already garnered considerable attention in their hometown New Orleans. With a recent performance at the 50th Anniversary of Jazz Fest and Heritage Festival, the band has been gaining attention for their close harmonies, stylish performance attire and their genre-blending sound.
The Wanting is a Southern Gothic Folk quartet from the front porches and neighborhood bars of New Orleans, Louisiana. Their style references the high lonesome sound of old-time Appalachia with an intelligent and finely crafted modern emotion. Their sound is live, in its carefully knit three-part harmonies and intimate original tales of love and loss, the esoteric and the occult.
