Brisbane-based, post-punk band Good Boy release the visuals for their politically charged single “Fishing With A Shotgun,” and announce their new EP Shirk Life. The video was released exclusively via THE 405, who stated, “Whether or not you’re from Australia, this song will resonate with anyone who’s ever felt at a loss with those who are supposed to represent them.”
On “Fishing With A Shotgun,” the Brisbane trio fight back against Queensland senator Pauline Hanson, the founder/leader of the right-wing Pauline Hanson’s One Nation political party. The video, made by SPOD, is a 3D-animated tongue-in-cheek exploration of these dark political times. The 405 says, “[the video] is like the brain scan of a comatose nihilist.” Produced and engineered by none other than Tim Fitz (Middle Kids), and mixed and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring / Total Control), ‘Fishing With A Shotgun’ is a 2 minute 30 second garage punk slap in the face.
With this release comes the announcement of their EP Shirk Life out November 10, 2017 on Barely Dressed Records (Big Smoke, Jarrow, Oh Pep!). In support of the release, Good Boy will be on tour in Australia in December.
