“Don’t Act Like A Girl”: Live 3 Person Band, Queer Teen Angst, and Plenty of Confetti (Chicago, IL)

“Don’t Act Like A Girl” opens January 15 at The Annoyance and runs every Sunday at 9:30 through February 12! Tickets are $10!

Don’t Act Like A Girl is a raucous cabaret with a live three person band, queer teen angst, and plenty of confetti.

This one-man show flashes back to the life of an awkward young loner who is misdiagnosed, over prescribed and misunderstood until a fatal trip to fat camp ultimately changes his life.

Inspired by David Sedaris, “Elaine Stritch at Liberty” and Chaka Khan, Don’t Act Like A Girl uses monologues and songs to tell true stories of special education, musical theatre, 9/11 and teenage drag queens.

Written and performed by Wes Perry. Directed by Annoyance veteran Tim Paul, star of the solo shows No Fats No Femmes and Tim Paul’s Retarded, with musical direction by Charles Worth.

Dance party in the theatre immediately following the opening night performance, DJed by TEEN WITCH, with special performances by drag queens and other surprise guests! A/S/L Media will be taking photos!

The Annoyance has a full and reasonably priced bar, so you can drink and dance the night away!
