David Lee Rotten bursts onto the music scene with his solo debut single/video, “If I Could Turn Back Time,” a surprisingly fresh cover of the Cher classic. As half of NYC electro glam-pop outfit Naked Highway, David Lee Rotten is no stranger to the charts or the dance floors. His production credits include hits by Tony-winner Levi Kreis, Parralox, Brit-pop star Francine, RuPaul’s Drag Race superstars Manila Luzon, Latrice Royale and Jinkx Monsoon, and many more.

“If I Could Turn Back Time” is reinterpreted here as heartbreaking, hopeful, driving and soaring. The video, directed by Rotten himself, is a riveting piece of art with special guest Manila Luzon, who out of drag shows surprising depth in a pivotal role. Dancer Quinton Guthier rounds out the cast of this moving visual.

David Lee Rotten, an Ohio native, has lived in Washington DC, Nashville, New Jersey and Manhattan. He now happily lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, with his boyfriend Peter and their three dogs. When he’s not in the studio, David volunteers his time to work at the Housing Works thrift shop, where his efforts contribute to the organization’s mission to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS.
